Rishikesh is a holy town which is situated 24 Kms upstream on the banks of the Ganga. Rishikesh is also spelled Hrishikesh, Rushikesh or Hrushikesk, is a city of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Located on the foothills of Himalayas known as the gateway of Himalaya. It is surrounded by three other districts namely Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal and Holy City Haridwar. Rishikesh is not only popular for its religious significance, but also popular for the devotees on their journey to the Char Dham Yatra. Apart from being a popular pilgrimage destination Rishikesh is also popular for adventure tourists heading from the tougher trekking trails to be found in the higher Himalayas.
